Optio Group, a leading specialty MGA, today announces the acquisition of AGS Forsikring AS (AGS). The MGA brings highly complementary areas of specialism to Optio and, following its acquisition of Bergen-headquartered S Insurance AS last year, extends its Scandinavian presence.           

Founded in 2008 by Lars-Petter Myklebost and headquartered in Oslo, AGS operates across three key segments: energy, sport and fine art, offering insurance solutions and claims handling. The MGA manages personal accident claims for Scandinavian sport federations supported by a proprietary IT system, provides tailor-made insurance solutions for cultural institutions in Scandinavia, and has built a global presence in the energy market through Lloyd’s-backed binders in both onshore and offshore.
